Nickel City Opera Artistic Director & Founder and Cheektowaga native Valerian Ruminski believes arts organizations are vital to the growth of WNY. Valerian has risen from humble beginnings to sing at prestigious opera houses around the world including The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Opera de Monte Carlo, Opera de Montreal, Dallas Opera, Seattle Opera, Hawaii Opera Theatre and Opera Ireland.  He was nurtured by the WNY community during the early stages of his career and wants to give back by keeping the art form he loves alive in his home town.
